Les forêts denses humides de l’Afrique de l’Ouest sont considérées comme l’une des zones prioritaires de biodiversité au monde. Elles s’étendent du Togo au Sénégal et on les appelle les forêts de Haute Guinée. En raison de leur situation isolée, elles abritent de nombreuses espèces d’animaux et plantes rares et endémiques.
